Por la pantalla aparecen nada menos que Ida Lupino, Olivia de Havilland, Jack Carson, Bette Davis, Errol Flynn, Eddie Cantor en un delirante papel, Humphrey Bogart, Joe Simpson y John Garfield cantando “Blues in the Night”.

Su ocasional trama envuelve a una pareja de productores de espectáculos musicales -S.Z. Sakall y Edward Everett Horton-, que quieren contratar a la cantante Dinah Shore para su próximo show. Por supuesto, los impedimentos para esta actuación son la excusa necesaria para la aparición de todos los nombres antes citados.
