José Norman fue un músico de origen británico y compositor que, después de casarse con una cubana fue obligado a salir de Cuba por Fidel Castro.

José Norman llegó a Los Angeles en 1960 después de vivir en la parte oriental de Cuba durante 11 años y se convirtió en presidente del Comité de Refugiados Cubanos del Sur de California.
